Mixed media artist
LEN CILIENTO, JR. was born in Rutherford, New Jersey and moved to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina to attend a small branch of the University of South Carolina. Since that time he has made a number of southern states his home.
Unable to paint a line he was satisfied with, Len sought out and discovered an innovative approach toward realizing his artistic vision. While living in Japan he became the first artist to create original artwork composed of authentic Japanese washi tape. (Washi tape is made from natural fibers or tree bark native to Japan.)
Since that time Len has also created artwork using self-stained tissue paper. His current work reflects a blend of tape and tissue.
Currently he lives and teaches in Savannah, GA.
