About the event
Ben Tollefson's "Heaven Scenes 1 - 7" addresses the concepts of paradise, desire, illusion and perfection, and the uncertainty of space in a painted plane. In the seven oil paintings presented, Tollefson depicts a jumbling of body parts, invented sculptural forms, and hard-edge formal elements and patterning to create inviting, albeit uncanny, spaces for viewers. Symbols like skies, beaches, clouds, and rainbows reference ideas of paradise. Gallery profits from show are donated to First City Network for the Savannah LGBT Center
